Liposuction Without Surgery

While Liposuction to remove fat from the tummy area involves major abdominal surgery, it is possible to have liposuction without surgery. The procedure uses non-invasive ultrasound technology to attack the fat deposits and to sculpt areas of the body.

Of note is that ultrasound technology is not suitable for all areas of the body, so make sure you get the appropriate advice before signing up and parting company with your cash.

Not everyone is suited to this type of procedure. For example, your BMI should be no more than 30, so if you are trying to get rid of a lot of fat, then liposuction without surgery may not be suitable. Certain medical conditions will also exclude you from having this type of treatment. These include liver, kidney, gall stone and pancreatic problems. If you have any devices implanted into the body (e.g. pacemaker), are pregnant, have high cholesterol, epilepsy, cancer or an autoimmune or systemic disease you will also be excluded. If your digestion is abnormal and you do not normally eat a healthy diet and take exercise this to may exclude you. This list is not exhaustive, so always check with your doctor first. To be honest, you need to be healthy and fit to undertake this type of treatment so it certainly is not a “quick fix” if you are overweight. It is best suited for those who have stubborn areas that are resistant to diet and exercise. For example, upper arms, thighs an small tummy areas.

There are various ultrasonic treatments around that tout the heading “liposuction without surgery” but how does it work? Put very basically, a device is passed over the target area that melts the fat with lasers. There may or may not then be light electrical impulse treatments to help remove the fatty deposits more quickly. The fat is then absorbed into the body, metabolised and dealt with by the liver and dispersed via normal bodily channels. The video below shows more detail.

Some of the liposuction without surgery treatments for lipo sculpting include UltraShape, Lipo-Ease, CaviStar, UltraContour, Liposonix and Zerona Laser. Clinical trials have suggested that there are no reasons for concern internally and around 1.5% of clients may have small marks on their skin that go quite quickly. The treatment is said to be going to revolutionise weight loss surgery. We have no personal experience of either, so suggest you do your own research carefully and look for client reviews.

Claims made by some are that you will see immediate results and even the first treatment is equal to doing around one thousand push ups! A full course of treatment is likely to see you lose between eight and twelve pounds. The treatment is painless but you do need to be eating a healthy diet before you start. In the UK the costs are around £150 for a single treatment and between £300 and £1000 for a series depending on the weight loss required. In the USA you are looking at $400 to $1000 per treatment.

Mini Tummy Tuck Recovery Period

Before you decide on a mini tummy tuck to get your stomach in shape, you should be aware of what the mini tummy tuck recovery is like. To be frank, you certainly won’t be able to run a marathon immediately after your abdominoplasty! You will definitely need time to recover.

If you are undergoing abdominal surgery for a mini tummy tuck or a full surgery, the tummy tuck recovery period will be significant and should be planned for. Although there is no exact period that can be quoted as recovery will depend on the individual and on whether they try and speed the healing process. The first point to note is that you should never take part in any activities that you are advised against as this is highly likely to inhibit the healing process.

One of the first things you should have done before your operation is to have asked questions about the general tummy tuck recover period. By doing this, you will not be surprised by the length of the time recovery takes, how weak you may feel and the activities that you should not participate in. Another way to get a good idea of what to expect and to ask questions is to find online forums and blogs about plastic surgery and in particular, abdominoplasty. However, be warned, there will be some stories you would prefer not to read! If these put you off, then a non surgical tummy tuck may be your best way forward for now.

Follow your surgeon’s advice on the length of time you need to rest, do not strain yourself, lift or take part in any form of exercise without following their guidelines. If you have had your operation privately and do not follow the guidelines and then have problems, you may incur extra costs to have things put right.

The potential issues that you should be aware of include, scaring, excessive blood loss and infection. If there is an infection you will notice the area around the wound is hotter than normal, will be red and probably have more than normal swelling and/or drainage from the wound area. You should expect some pain for a few weeks, but if this is severe or lasts longer than you were advised or is sudden, then seek medical help as soon as possible.

Although it is now normal to be fitted with compression stockings to help avoid blood clots, if you are able to and when advised, try and get up and walk around a little every hour or two unless it causes you too much discomfort. When you are lying down, try and bend your knees at an angle to avoid straining the wound area.

You can expect your surgeon to advise you to avoid exercise for 4-8 weeks and even then, there are certain exercises you should avoid. They are also likely to tell you to eat a healthy diet and take vitamin supplements to help you heal. To be honest, just use your common sense and go with your instincts most of the time. Your body will soon shout at you if you do too much and you should never force yourself.

If you are a parent of young children you will require help for some time with bathing and playing. As hard as it may be, you should also avoid lifting them at all costs. Even cuddling can be an issue. Try placing a cushion across your tummy and have them snuggle up to your side rather than straight across you explaining that mummy has a poorly tummy. They may forget at times, but generally, even small children can be considerate and caring!

You should always remember that a tummy tuck or a mini tummy tuck is an invasive procedure that carries the usual risks of any operation. Having confidence in your surgeon is imperative, so always do your research properly and ask questions. If you are not happy with the answers, go elsewhere and don’t be swayed by a professional sounding sales pitch with false promises if these cannot be backed up with hard evidence.

Having a tummy tuck or even a mini tuck may give you the looks you want, but it doesn’t come without cost. Be aware of what you are getting in to and the tummy tuck recovery period. Within reason, don’t let cost dictate your choice of surgeon, do your research properly as you don’t want an amateur messing things up. Allows choose someone who specialises in abdominoplasties as they will have the best knowledge and advice.

Laser Fat Removal

If you are having trouble getting rid of some areas on your body that refuse to respond to diet and exercise, then laser fat removal may be the way forward. Keeping toned is far more difficult as we age or if you have lost considerable amounts of weight rapidly.

Laser liposuction differs from traditional lipo in that there is less force required to remove the fat cells. This is because the laser heats and melts the cells and thus requires a much smaller suction tube than with standard lipo. Therefore, the incision required to remove the fat cells is also much smaller and therefore heals a lot faster. However, there are some procedures that require no incisions at all.

Laser fat removal is a very good alternative if you are looking for a non surgical tummy tuck to avoid the expense, the pain, the large scars and the recovery period as it is only minimally invasive. On the down side, if you have a lot of fat to get rid of, it could take some time, several sessions and therefore cost more. You may also find that you need regular top-ups to maintain tone.

The process can show rapid results in your skin and amount of fat, usually after a couple of weeks.  There are several different types of laser fat removal, including Zerona, Body Thermage, Smooth Lipo, Smart Lipo, Cool Lipo, Cold Laser fat removal and Accent Laser Treatment.

Turning to some of the different types of laser fat removal….

Thermage laser fat removal stimulates collagen growth through the use of Capacitive Radio Frequency technology. The length of time your treatment will take depends on the area involved and may take between 20 and 120 minutes. However, you will noticed an immediate improvement in skin tone and texture although the final results may not be visible for a few months as the collagen takes time to grow.
The good news is that this process is completely non surgical and you may not even need any pain killers. The treatment produces sensation of heat as the energy is pulsed to the area, check to see whether your practioner has one of the newer machines that includes a cooling pulse as well, these machines are referred to as Thermage CPT. You may experience some bruising to the treated area but this should not affect your ability to go about your normal daily routine.

Less than five per cent of clients have any side effects from Thermage treatment, but even so, do your research to find someone with solid references. The cost will vary depending on where you live, the practioner and the amount of work that you require. You can expect to pay at least $1000 dollars but this may be as much as $5000 or even more.

Zerona laser fat removal uses the FDA approved Erchonia LipoLaser and is non-invasive. It works by opening a pore within the fat cell wall and this fat is then released into the body for removal by the body’s natural systems. The treatment involves at least six treatments over two weeks and each treatment lasts about forty minutes. Negative effects are rare for this treatment, but do check for yourself.

If you don’t want the cost, inconvenience, pain and scaring of surgery, then laser fat removal could be for you. Also, no one will know what you have done and you can take the credit for all the ‘exercise’ you have been doing! If you think that this type of fat removal is the only way to lose weight, then know that it isn’t! If you return to eating badly and not exercising at all, then the fat will just come back. Make a commitment to eat and live in the best way you can, get a gym buddy or someone who will support you and put you off that chocolate cake you think you want!

Laser fat removal has become very popular and can return your self esteem quickly and easily. However, it may not be the ultimate answer to all your problems and you will need to either have return sessions or at least get some exercise and eat better.
